The Nursery is a space where children are empowered.
To think. To do. To create. To have their voices heard. Here they are respected as equals.
They are given the freedom to explore and are encouraged to be inquisitive about the world around them.

At The Nursery they learn about their own talents and are encouraged to develop their individuality.
Our job as practitioners is to keep reminding them of just how amazing they are. And they can be anything they want to be.

Learning through play and hands on experiences are the focus at The Nursery and all our resources, activities and the experiences we provide promote the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS).
Play activities are carefully planned in accordance to the children’s interests, abilities and future development and children are closely observed to ensure the environment and its resources are appropriate to their needs.

Throughout the baby room and nursery, children have opportunity to develop all their skills through exploration and investigation of a range of continuous provisions such as, sand and water, small world and construction toys, painting, modelling, creating, role play, books and various forms of technology.
The structure of the day enables time for large and small group activities, individual play and free flow play that also extends to the outdoor area, allowing children to make choices whilst promoting independence, confidence and building friendships.
All the Nursery practitioners are qualified or working toward a childcare qualification. All staff have an up to date paediatric first Aid certificate.
We are trained to safeguard your children so we can ensure children are getting the best care and are always kept safe and secure. Disclosure Baring Service (DBS checks) are Completed. Our staff are passionate about working with the children and strive to improve their training knowledge and development.
All our staff have good working relationships with each other and an inclusive approach with parents and children.
The Nursery operates an inclusive and open-door policy. Places are offered on a first come first served basis, however, should there be no immediate availability, we have a waiting list in operation.
When offered a place at The Nursery you can request to look at the policies and procedures manual. Please read our enrolment forms carefully as this is a legal agreement between both parties that you are required to sign.
They must be completed prior to your child starting nursery. Please contact us or call into the nursery to discuss our current availability.
Once you have enrolled your child at The Nursery we can arrange some settling in sessions for some, the separation can be quite a traumatic time for both parent and child.
We recommend that you bring your child for an initial visit. This gives our key workers the opportunity to get to know you and your child. Then we can arrange some short visits for your child. This gives then the opportunity to experience the nursery environment without you being there. We will do our best to make your child’s transition as smooth as possible.
At induction you will receive our induction pack that tells you all about us. you will have an opportunity to tell us all about your child’s needs and development. You will meet your child’s key worker who will provide lots of support and encouragement throughout this period.
Children can attend a variety of set sessions which also include, term time only sessions or all year round. There is a minimum requirement of two sessions, however the more sessions a child attends the more they will benefit and gain from their nursery experiences.
As a full day care provider, we offer sessions between the hours of 8am and 6pm meeting the requirements of both working and non-working families.
If your child is attending the 2-year funded session only, please note that moving them on to a new pre-school on their 3rd birthday is not the best option for your child’s education. We follow the same pre-school curriculum (EYFS) as all the local schools.
Keeping them in a settled environment until they start Primary School is the better option and will promote their all-round development. Research has shown too much change can cause distress and anxiety.
